03 / 04 / 2010 - part 1.

Its been a while since I announced anything here I know. I've busied myself with setting up my first studio since 2003 in Dalston and attemtping to go there to make art.

In January I became Secretary of POST artists network - see the links page for more details of this artists group dedicated to place based work in the public realm. At the end of May we have our first event taking place across Colliers wood and Morden called AwayDay. I will be undertaking a day as writer-in-residence in Colliers Wood park and coordinating a performance there.

I recently visited the now decomissioned site of the Chiltern Sculputre Trail in Cowleaze Wood in the Chiltern Hills, Oxfordshire, just to see if there was any trace of my piece still to be found.

The Trail itself was decomissioned several years ago when the project lost its funding. However, I discovered, much to my pleasure, that they had not been bothered to remove my sculptureso it is presently doing what I and nature intended it to do... Becoming overgrown, small plants are growing through its middle, moss covers most of the tarmac and blackberries are fruiting on its verges.

Leaving London for Switzerland on foot, walking out through Greenwich, Eltham, Sidcup and Hextable into Kent. The progress of the journey will be intermittently recorded upon a blog as Bram traverses across northern France, across the Champagne region of France and the Black Forest of Southern Germany. Arriving in St. Gallen in time for his 27th birthday.

Solo show for project ‘Walking Home’ ran and changed on a daily basis at Shed & a Half Gallery, 150 Curtain Road, Shoreditch. As I continued to plan and work on the ideas behind and the practicalities of the 590 mile journey to St. Gallen the performative installation acted as a physical representation of my mental fears, excitements, interests and engagements. See the Work section of the website for further documentation and information.
